TAP is the third safest airline in Europe
TAP is considered the third most secure airline in Europe. The data belong to the assessment center air accident data (JACDEC, the original acronym) and are being recalled following the fall of the aircraft Germanwings yesterday in the French Alps.
The Portuguese carrier has a ratio of 0.017 times between incidents and size of air traffic in the last 30 years. The company led by Fernando Pinto occupies the 13th place worldwide.
The world ranking is led Cathay Pacific Airways, based in Hong Kong, followed by Emirates airline, the United Arab Emirates and the Eva Air, Taiwan. In Europe, the Dutch KLM has the best safety record. Lufthansa ranks second in the Old Continent.
The data, known in January this year, are being recalled by the international press following the fall of the A320 Germanwings plane, on Tuesday in the French Alps. Were on board 150 people in total, in the aircraft, that was the connection between Barcelona and Dusseldorf.
